Connect American Airlines AAdvantage Business to Emburse Enterprise

Emburse's integration with American Airlines' AAdvantage Business program will automatically add eligible flight receipts to your users' Emburse Enterprise eWallets.

  • Users must be registered with AAdvantage Business and book a business trip with your organization’s AAdvantage Business account to have flight receipts synced directly to the eWallet in Emburse Enterprise.
  • Receipt sync works even when flights are booked via a travel management company or agency, as long as the AAdvantage Business profile is linked to Emburse Enterprise.

1. Before You Begin

The following prerequisites must be met before you can connect Emburse Enterprise to AAdvantage Business via American Airlines' travel management portal.

  • Your organization must be enrolled in the AAdvantage Business program. Click here to register for free. 
  • You must be the Travel Manager for your organization’s AAdvantage Business account.
  • You must have admin access to the AAdvantage Business travel management portal.
  • You must have set up your organization's email domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com) as a trusted domain on the AAdvantage Business travel management portal Settings screen.

2. Set Up the Integration

1. Log in to your AAdvantage Business account using your personal AAdvantage login.

2. In the menu, click Settings, then click the Integrations tab.

3. Find Emburse Enterprise in the list and toggle it on.

You will see a confirmation message once the connection is active.

3. Invite Users to AAdvantage Business

1. In the AAdvantage Business travel management portal menu, click People.

2. In the upper right corner, click Invite People to invite users to register with your organization's AAdvantage Business account. Click here for complete details.

3. Users will receive an email to complete registration.

Once users have completed registration, they can book flights as usual on aa.com or the American Airlines app—just be sure they select Business under Travel Type when booking.

If your users book through an agency, be sure they have included your organization's AAdvantage Business account number, necessary remarks, and their personal AAdvantage number before traveling.

How Receipts Are Synced

  • Timing: Receipts are usually delivered within a few minutes of ticketing.
  • Coverage: Only ticket purchases are synced. AAdvantage Business does not yet support syncing of additional purchases like seat upgrades, meals, etc.
  • Booking Source: Flights booked on AA.com, the AA app, over the phone, or through a travel agency are all eligible if linked to your organization's AAdvantage Business profile.

Receipts will only be synced if they can be matched to an active user in Emburse Enterprise. Unmatched receipts will be discarded.

Which companies are eligible?

Any business based in the U.S. or Canada with a valid tax ID or business number can enroll.

How soon after I book a flight should I see the receipt?

Receipts are typically delivered within a few minutes of ticketing. Occasionally, it may take longer.

Can I disable the integration later?

Yes. Just return to Settings > Integrations in the AAdvantage Business travel management portal and toggle it off.

What if a traveler leaves the company?

You can remove them in the People tab of the AAdvantage Business travel management portal.

Are non-ticket charges included?

At this time, only ticket purchases are supported.
