Migration Guide: Transition from CR Snap and Chrome River Apps to Emburse Enterprise Mobile App

Emburse Enterprise will soon retire the legacy CR Snap and Chrome River apps, which have been replaced by the Emburse Enterprise mobile app. This unified mobile experience for Enterprise customers consolidates and modernizes the capabilities of CR Snap and the Chrome River app, delivering a secure, intuitive, and feature-rich mobile experience.

Why Is Migration Necessary?

  • Enhanced Security and Compliance: The Emburse Enterprise app is built on a modern security framework and best practices. Migrating ensures your organization benefits from the latest compliance standards, advanced authentication options (like biometric login), and stronger safeguards to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Seamless Continuity of Service: The current CR Snap and Chrome River apps will be retired as Emburse transitions to a unified mobile experience. To avoid disruptions in mobile expense management, approvals, and workflows, customers must adopt the new Emburse Enterprise app before this date. Migrating early guarantees uninterrupted access and gives teams time to transition smoothly.
  • Future-Proofed User Experience: The Emburse Enterprise app is designed with an intuitive interface, AI-powered expense automation, and expanded features—including smarter receipt capture, end-to-end expense workflows, personalized homescreen actions, and support for future enhancements. By migrating, you ensure your employees get a faster, more reliable, and streamlined mobile experience that aligns with Emburse’s long-term roadmap.

Troubleshooting FAQ

Why can’t users log in to the Emburse Enterprise app?

If your users do not have company-provided mobile devices and your organization does not allow users to log in via SSO on their personal devices, they will not be able to use the Emburse Enterprise app.

If users are reporting that they cannot log in to your organization’s SSO on their personal devices, consider contacting your IT department to discuss changing your SSO setup to allow your users to access the Emburse Enterprise app on their personal devices.

Additionally, your users may not be able to log in to the Emburse Enterprise app if your mobile SSO configuration is not properly set up. If users are getting an error message in the Emburse Enterprise app indicating that SSO configuration issues are preventing login, please contact Emburse Enterprise Support.

Can I create expenses with credit card transactions in the app?

Yes, the Emburse Enterprise app allows you to add credit card transactions to an expense report. You can also get real-time notifications for credit card transactions. In early Q4 we will be adding the ability to view credit card transactions in the app's Wallet section; currently, only the Receipt Gallery is visible.

Why are some of my offline receipts missing?

Receipts remain cached until upload. Ensure your device meets encryption requirements.

Which operating systems can download the Emburse Enterprise app?

  • iOS: OS Version 17.0 or higher
  • Android: OS Version 11.0 or higher

If your device is running an older version of iOS or Android, you will not be able to download the app from the App Store or Google Play. Either update your device’s operating system (if supported) or use a device that meets the minimum requirements.
