To get started, users may navigate to the US Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search for “Emburse Chrome River.” Complete details on installing and using the Emburse Chrome River app may be found in the Emburse Chrome River App Help Center.

Can my organization use the Emburse Chrome River app?

The Emburse Chrome River app is currently available for Chrome River Expense customers based in the United States.

Can users at my organization use both the Emburse Chrome River app and the Chrome River SNAP app at the same time?

Yes. Now that the Emburse Chrome River app is available, US-based users at your organization can use either the Emburse Chrome River app or the Chrome River SNAP app.

We recommend that you have any new US-based employees download the Emburse Chrome River app once they’re set up in Chrome River and that you encourage all existing US-based users to start using the Emburse Chrome River app instead of the Chrome River SNAP app, but it is not necessary for all users to switch over simultaneously.

Why should my organization transition from the Chrome River SNAP app to the Emburse Chrome River app?

The new Emburse Chrome River app has all the same features as CR SNAP and more! It will also be the foundation for all of our future mobile innovations, so stay tuned for additional functionality to further simplify the user experience.

Here are all the features currently available:

  • Receipt Capture: Easily capture receipts in the moment.
  • OCR: Extract expense details automatically.
  • Cloud Wallet: Track and manage your receipts on any device.
  • Real-Time Alerts: Messaging from anywhere.
  • Digital Archiving: Digitize receipts in compliance with country-specific requirements.
  • Multilingual Interface: Available in 35 languages.

When will users outside of the US have access to the Emburse Chrome River app?

We want to ensure that all users will have an exceptional experience before we make the Emburse Chrome River app available to them.

Our development team is currently hard at work integrating our OCR technology into the Emburse Chrome River app for our supported languages other than English. We expect that the Emburse Chrome River app will be available to all Chrome River Expense users later this year.

Is the Chrome River SNAP app going away?

We plan to begin transition efforts later in 2024 to give you adequate time to complete the transition before we deprecate Chrome River SNAP.

Is the Chrome River mobile app going away?

Not in the near term. We are currently building report creation, submission, and approval functionalities into the Emburse Chrome River app that will eventually replace the Chrome River app. Until these features are available, the Chrome River app will remain available in the app store (at least through 2025). We will ensure all customers are given ample opportunity to transition to the new Emburse Chrome River app before any legacy apps are removed from the app stores.

How much does the Emburse Chrome River app cost?

The Emburse Chrome River app is included in your Chrome River Expense subscription. There is no additional charge for the app.

Why can’t users at my organization log in to the Emburse Chrome River app?

If your users do not have company-provided mobile devices and your organization does not allow users to log in via SSO on their personal devices, they will not be able to use the Emburse Chrome River app.

If users are reporting that they cannot log in to your organization’s SSO on their personal devices, consider contacting your IT department to discuss changing your SSO setup to allow your users to access the Emburse Chrome River app on their personal devices.

Additionally, your users may not be able to log in to the Emburse Chrome River app if your mobile SSO configuration is not properly set up. If users are getting an error message in the Emburse Chrome River app indicating that SSO configuration issues are preventing login, please contact the Chrome River Help Desk for support.

Why isn’t OCR working for some non-English receipts?

Our development team is currently hard at work integrating our OCR technology into the Emburse Chrome River app for our supported languages other than English. In the meantime, you may find errors in some OCR processing that could result in missing or incorrect Vendor, Amount, or Date fields.
