Configure Analytics User Types, Modules, and Portal Views

Administrators may use the People admin screen to determine which Emburse Analytics user types are available to individual users, as well as which legacy ANALYTICS user types, modules, and portal views users are assigned. Your organization's subscription to Chrome River determines which legacy modules are available to choose from.

Click ADMIN SETTINGS > MASTER DATA > PEOPLE.

Type all or part of the user's name or title in the search box. Click on the desired user to display their information, then click EDIT.

Scroll down to the Analytics section, then use the drop-down in the User Type box to enable ANALYTICS, if necessary.

Emburse Analytics User Types and Roles

The People admin screen allows you to set Creator and Viewer user-type permissions for our new solution, Emburse Analytics. See "Assign Creator and Viewer Permissions" in Emburse Analytics User Types and Roles for complete details.

Legacy ANALYTICS User Type

There are three choices for each user: Analytics Not Enabled, Basic User and Advanced User.

  • Basic User: Designating someone as a basic user gives you the ability to control precisely what they can see in the Chrome River ANALYTICS portal, allowing any combination of Dashboard, Standard Reports and Shared Reports.
  • Basic users cannot create or schedule reports. They can view and run any ad hoc reports created by Advanced users in the Shared Reports area of the ANALYTICS portal, but they cannot save them.
  • Basic users can be given limited subsets of the Portal View.
  • Advanced User: Designating someone as an advanced user lets them see all available components that are applicable to the Modules selection.
  • Advanced users may run, create, share and schedule reports in the Ad Hoc Reports area of their ANALYTICS portal.
  • Advanced users may also access the InfoAssist Ad Hoc Reporting tool from the Ad Hoc Reports area.

Legacy ANALYTICS Modules

Use the Modules drop-down menu to choose which combination of modules (EXPENSE, INVOICE, PURCHASE ORDER, AUDIT) the user may access in ANALYTICS. You may see fewer choices depending on which modules your organization subscribes to.

Legacy ANALYTICS Portal View

Use the Portal View drop-down menu to choose which Analytics component pages the user will see when he or she launches the ANALYTICS portal. You may see fewer choices depending on the Modules selection.

When you are finished, click SAVE in the upper right-hand corner.
