Lesson 3: Add Headers and Footers to the Drill-Down Detail Report

Add a Page Break Based on Report Number

  1. Open the Lesson 2 – Drill Down Report in InfoAssist.
  2. Select the Report ID column.
  3. On the Field – Report ID tab, in the Break group, select Page Break.

Add a Page Header

  1. In the Home tab, click the Report button.
  2. Click the drop-down next to Header & Footer and select Page Header.

Add Report Name to the Page Header

  1. Delete "Enter text here."
  2. Drag Header (segment) - Report Name (field) from the Resources Panel onto the Header & Footer pop-up window.
  3. Click OK.
  4. This will display each report's name above its information in the Live Preview.

Add a Page Footer

  1. In the Home tab, under the Report group, click the drop-down next to Header & Footer and select Page Footer.
  2. Delete "Enter text here."
  3. Enter To return to the summary report, use the back button on the browser or click on the report number link.
  4. Click OK.

Add a Link to the Summary Report

  1. Select the Report ID column.
  2. On the Field – Report Number tab, in the Links group, select Hyperlink.
  3. Select Report in the Drill Down pop-up box.
  4. Click the Browse button. Select Lesson 1 – Expense Summary Report.
  5. Click OK.

Save and Run the Report

  1. Save the report by clicking the SAVE button in the Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Click the RUN button on the Quick Links Toolbar.
  3. Enter a Report ID for the parameter and click RUN.
  4. Click on a Report ID to verify that the Expense Summary Report appears.
