Access the Chrome River Legacy Ad Hoc Report Creator Chrome River's legacy Analytics product, WebFOCUS, is used exclusively for creating and editing Ad Hoc reports. All other legacy functions—viewing and running Ad Hoc reports and creating, editing, and running Standard reports—can be accessed via the In-App Standard and Ad Hoc Analytics Reports section of the Chrome River application. For details on our new solution, Emburse Analytics, click here. 1. To access WebFOCUS, click the MENU button in the upper left corner and then click ANALYTICS. A new Analytics Reporting window will pop up. If necessary, click on the AD HOC REPORTS tab. Double-click on REPORTING OBJECTS to see a list of report types—referred to as “reporting objects”—that you can customize. These are segregated into folders by module, so the number and types of reporting objects available depend on which modules your company subscribes to. The Reference folder contains a subset of reporting objects related to administrative functions like matters, person records, and entities. To create a new ad hoc report, right-click on an object in the Reporting Objects folder, select NEW and then select REPORT. The WebFOCUS InfoAssist screen that appears will allow you to build a custom report based on the reporting object you selected. There are many ways to customize the interface to make this task even easier. Each of the menus across the top of the interface opens a toolbar with buttons arranged by type in separate panels. Home Menu In the Design Panel, the Live Preview is selected by default. This will allow you to drag data fields onto your report and preview your data on the blank “canvas.” The Document view is similar to the Live Preview, but you will preview your data in a Microsoft Word document. The Query view does not give you a preview of your data. Also in the Design Panel, click on DATA FROM SOURCE. This will allow you to preview real data instead of sample data. In the Records drop-down menu below it, you can select how many data records you would like to preview at once. In the Home tab, select your preferred report output format (e.g., HTML, PDF). Format Menu In the Destination panel, select REPORT to generate a report instead of a chart. Layout Menu The Page Setup panel allows you to specify the report’s margins, page orientation, etc. View Menu The View menu’s Design panel offers you another chance to select Live Preview in order to drag data fields onto your report and preview your data on the blank canvas. The Document view is similar to the Live Preview, but you will preview your data in a Microsoft Word document. The Query view does not give you a preview of your data. In the Show/Hide panel, be sure that "Resources" is selected. Otherwise the Data/Filter/Query panes will be hidden from your view, and only the Live Preview will be visible. In the Data panel, select STRUCTURED. In this view, the data fields in the menu on the left are stored in different folders by category. For example, the "firstname" and "lastname" fields are found in the Person folder. Was this article helpful? Yes No
